SERMON EXCERPT - on 1 John chapter 3, verses 18-24...
Paul says in Romans that "the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin"
(Romans 7:14). He's saying there's no way that I in the flesh can keep the law
of God, but then in the next chapter he says "But ye are not in the flesh, but in
the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you" (Romans 8:9).
So it's a matter of, does the Spirit of God really dwell in us? Or is He still on
the outside, trying to direct us a little bit because we won't really allow Him
in the heart? We may be claiming a salvation that we don't have.
