FROM TRUTH TO PURITY

1 John 3:1-3

  1. Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

  2. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

  3. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

God's love for us was made manifest in Jesus.
He was the embodiment of perfect love.

He was rejected by this world, but He is coming back.
This truth is the source of all our hope.
In this hope we find the source of all our strength.
With this strength we must continue striving toward His purity.
In this purity we are bound together as children of our heavenly Father.
No matter how hard we try, we cannot purify ourselves.

Only by the price paid on Calvary.
Only by the body and blood of Jesus.
